I just ordered SBR's stainless clutch lines, are they the same as RRE's? Do they replace the thing(??)on the front of the tranny too? I was originally looking at RRE, but I need them quick and SBR is 3/4 of a continent closer. I was just wondering, because the pictures look a little different. I have replaced both the master and slave cylinders and the same clutch line twice, hopefully this will fix my clutch issues.

Thanks
Brian

I use the RRE Line and love it. I have no idea about the SBR line, though. I imagine it will work much the same.

Looking at SBR's website, their 2g line looks exactly like RRE's 2g line (and I mean *exactly*...that's how my 2g line arrived from RRE a couple of weeks ago):

Regardless, I've had a 1g-style line on my 2g since I did my clutch swap (RRE mistakenly sent me the wrong one when I ordered), and it still eliminated the reservoir; you remove the reservoir and rubber tubing, leaving the lower hard pipe between the reservoir and slave cylinder in place. The 1g line will connect to the original rubber tube location and to the lower hard pipe, and all you need to do is bend the lower piping a bit so everything reaches. So, even if you get the 1g style of line, it'll still do the same thing.

Of course, now my SS clutch line is going on our 1g, and I've got a brand new 2g line sitting on my table waiting to go on... ;)

If you call up various vendors and ask about the SS clutch line they sell (and pretty much everything else they sell...), you'll notice they all carry the same stuff from the same manufacturers.

It's all the same shizzle! Don't worry about it.

Maybe I looked at the wrong picture, RRE's kit looked like it contained to lines. Either way It came last night, and I am taking a break from the install. I am having trouble loosening up the steel line that goes into the rubber line. I just sprayed the $hit out of it with "Blaster" so hopefully in a little while it will be a little more friendly. I still bypass the clutch damper (reservoir thing?), right?

Thanks

Nope, that picture you saw was a side-by-side of the 1g and 2g lines.

Try using flare-nut wrenches on that instead of a normal open-ended wrench; you run a high risk of stripping that little guy otherwise:

You'll also need to disconnect the banjo bolt at the slave cylinder (assuming you have the 2g line), then just remove the reservoir (a couple of 12mm bolts, if memory serves) and attach the line at each end.
