RRE Catch Can Question

After starting the car after the winter build, i noticed steam/vapors coming from my new RRE Oil catch can breather. When i drain the can its amost a discolored water. Is this normal because that would be getting recycled back into the intake, or do i have a bigger probelm like a headgasket issue? I did a compression check and it wsa normal.

i know the pcv valve and the breather is suppose to suck vapors and the extra pressure back into the intake of the combustion, however i have nothing to compare to what is in my catch can because i don't know how much vapors the system eliminates.

I have the feeling my head gasket didnt seat correctly and there a small internal water leak, however i don't get how the head gasket couldn't seat right, its like a huge retarted puzzle peice that only goes on one way.WTF

Have you broken in that motor yet?
Id say its combustion gases that manage there way past the rings and come out your pcv set up. Mines does this under vacuum I believe... But my motor has a lot of miles on it and needs to rebuild sometime within the next year or two...
If your motor was just built, and broken in properly you shouldnt have any leakdown at all.

motor was built las winter and driven all of last summer, has about 4000 miles on it and was broken in properly. I put a new head on it this winter as well as some other things. So i did a new metal headgasket as well as new arp studs. I pulled the first bit of oil out of the pan figuring to look for water there wasn't any. any other suggestions?
