92 Eagle Talon Non-Turbo bone stock. Really rough idle almost wants to die. The exhaust smells really rich. I bought the car this way. I'm gonna stick a timing gun on it and see how that looks. I'm thinkin maybe it's off a tooth or TPS sensor. Any other ideas?

A bad oxygen sensor can cause your car to run rich and smell like that. You will have to verify that it is bad first though. It could also be the spark plugs or some other stuff. It's always best to do all the maintanence first. That way, you can ruled out those things.

Vacuum leak as well can cause a rich condition.

Really quick way to tell if you have a vacuum leak is to grab a propane torch without lighting it, turn it on and move it around your throttle body area/vacuum lines. If there is a change in RPM, you'll know where the leak is!

I used brake cleaner to find my intake leak. It was doing exactly the same thing. I also made me own intake gasket which was about 3 times thicker than the felpro that was on it.
