Rotten egg smell

Im just wondering if anyone knows, or has any idea of why when i get on it hard. I get a rotten egg smell right after im done gettin off it. I think it might be the cat but im not sure any suggestions would be good.

Hydrogen sulfide, the same thing that gives rotten eggs their smell. I have biochemistry tomorrow and I can get the full scoop if your interested. I'm sure someone on here has the chemistry background to explain.

I would reccomend using up your current tank of gas and than switching to a different station. My guess is that it has to do with the quality of gas you are using. Not all gas stations are equal. With my GTI I filled up at a station near my school twice and noticed a rotten egg smell both times, I started going to a different station and it never happened again.

alright does anyone know where i can get a test pipe cheap like really cheap cuz im kinda sick of smellin eggs. And would i have to stay with the stock diameter pipe or could i go wit a 2 1/2in test pipe so i dont have to buy a new one when i get exhaust

Definately your Cat'. One gas station that I know to stay away from is "Shell" stations. Ever since I had my Cavalier back in 96', then my 98 Eclipse GS, and now my 97 GS-T, Shells' gas burns super smelly like that. I stick with Exxon. I don't get it as often.

My buddie's GSX had smelled like that after 'getting on' due to a leaky BOV. It would leak mad under boost, and the air that has gone through the filter, hot turbo and dirty IC doesn't smell too go0d

It could be your battery as well. If the acid leaks out, it smells like rotten eggs. My car used to explode batteries. Just look at it and smell it and you'll know.

not old at all ive only got 11k on the car so i know for a fact its not the clutch
