Road in a 08 subaru STI and boy i tell u it is FAST for begin stock

This car is hella fast for only doing 15psi and the car is bone stock pretty much so im wondering why is'nt my gsx this fast? My GSX will do 22 PSI but it takes for every to bost to 22psi as to the STI it hits 15 PSI as soon as he pushs the gas! So im sure its just my car but is eclipses able to do this hit boost that fast? and if so what would cause mine to be lagging that bad? I was told the turbo i got is a T3 i know its a 50 trim i think its a knock off though cause it dosent have a brand name on it and it looks alot like a garret!

But when its was all said and done after rideing in the sube i relly love to have one of the cars but a price tag of 7x what i paid for my GSX i think i will stick to the DSMs :)

price was 36k OMG

Big displacment engine, tiny turbo, and most importantly variable valve timing really fattens up the low end making the car feel like a fighter jet screaming off an aircraft carrier. But when the revs climb the turbo gasses out and things mostly calm down. I prefer this combination for a street car, but a 9000rpm 2.0L and huge laggy turbo will win the race everytime. DSMs are the best.

I would take my DSM over a Subie any day. Even for a newer one. Have you ever looked under the hood of a Subaru, its a cluster F*&k. And parts are as expensive as the car...

....Wait what? Have you seen under the hood of your own car? LOL its pretty tight in there LOL.;)

BTW to the OP I guess this thread is dead now that its blown LOL. He had a fast car for a short life. :sneaky:

I have had +4 tranny failures on a DSM to 0 failures on an STi, for what its worth. An STi also doesn't shit parts every 5000 miles like a DSM does. Um, tight engine compartment? Are you nuts, I can drop a turbo nearly as easy as a DSM its right there on the passenger side wide wide open. Intake mods are easy cause the intake is also up high and in your face, so is the intercooler, intake manifold, throttlebody. Spark plugs are another story though:toobad:

Yes, the STi's do launch like a fighter jet, a launch at 4000 rpms pretty much annihilates most cars, and 1 bike I ran against, the other caught up and crushed me topend. I don't think I could out-launch it with my DSM to be honest, not without destroying another tranny. For day-in-day out launches, every day, the STi can't be beat.

As far as parts go, you haven't priced out Subaru parts then, they are equivalent to EVO parts and costs are similar to DSM's except for cams, which are twice the price since Subies have 4 cams instead of 2. Intakes, exhausts, turbo upgrades, intercoolers, engine management are all similar to DSM's.

You can build the motors any way you like, these things can also rev.

Anybody ever read an evo vs. sti thread the evos win hands down every single time. Besides imo the subaru sounds like it has a torn a**hole as it revs up.

i say build a 2.3 with an hta3076, shep tranny, and the right suspension, and tuning.. no doubt in my mind you will have a change of heart.. plus everything i just listed is half the price of building a scubie engine..

DSM= FTMFW!!!!!!

I've ridden in one of those new STIs. Sure it was fast, but nothing that would make me OMG or anything. Plus, I'm not a fan of the new styling. I think I'll stick to my DSM for now (that is until I can afford an Evo). :talon:

Unless your installing active/adjustable differentials in your DSM, you ain't touching one in the corners. I do things with my STi one handed that I wouldn't do in my DSM with a roll cage and helmet.

I'll admit the EVO's have the advantage, but a DSM is no EVO.

I'll agree there. I don't test my DSM in the twisties. It is purely for going fast in a straight line. :talon:

+1
400+ is a wind up walking bomb like in mario.

Why is it every suby guy thinks their car is the FASTEST thing on the street? LOL

exactly why i'm glad i don't a subaru no more, cocky bastards. show me one street driven subaru that's running 9's??? maybe big valley but besides that hmm none.

Yeah im going to have to get mine tuned! how do u guys find tunners? by word of mouth. I did a search on AWD dyno but nothing much comes up. Wonder if u really have to have it on a dyno to tune it?

my cousing had a 02 subie wrx with 1000 inj. fuel pump. a t3/t4 turbo and a Utec ECU etc. i think it made 560 something to the wheels and it had a stock bottom end

Since its a H4 wouldn't it be Middle end?

I doubt your cousin did that... sorry.

My roomate had an 05 wrx and I loved the damn thing... big BOV and greddy exhaust sounded S I C K! But after driving it as much as I did, I would have to say that I like the EVO's alot more. Honestly you have to do alot of work to them for me to think an imreza even looks good at all...

I've been scratching my head over the past few responses.
Didn't even realize I was in the newb section, that explains it.

Am i the only one who notice that the post was spelled wrong? ROAD /translation?/ RODE. :ohdamn:

If you like a suby buy one, if not get some grease under those nails an beat the f@ck out of that SUBY. I didnt buy my car because i thought it was a Super car. I bought it as a budget build to pick on corvettes an mustangs. Plus 2 door awd, im sorry thats just sexy. End of post.
