rewiring battery/starter

basically every wire coming off the starter (ground and positive battery terminal) are bad. the wires coming from hte fuse box are basically destroyed too. anyone have any experience rewiring all the wires that run to/from the battery?

i have to replace both terminals that connect to the battery as well as basically every cord running off of it, so i have to dig into the wire loom coming from the positive side and take those wires out, which i think run to the starter. what sort/size of wire should i use?

no ones ever had to replace the cables connected to the battery before?

I haven't replaced the wires going to the fuse box yet, but when I've rewired the starter and alternator I always used 4ga wire. In most cases I left the loom alone and just ziptied the new wire to the outside of it and cut off the ends of the old wire.

rewiring the fusebox will require cutting into the loom/harness however.
