I'm sure this question has already been answered but I have a 2g talon and I'm swapping in a 91 or 1g turbo engine, the engine I had in the car to begin with was a turbo engine too so...anyways question is ### exactly do I have to do to get the four wires out of the electrical harness on my ECU to "swap them"? I know #1 becomes #14, #14 becomes #15, #15 becomes $2 and #2 becomes #1 but how do I get the wires to release from the connector to switch them? thanks for the help in advance just would love to have my car back up and running is all!!!

Cut, solder and heatshrink tubing.
Or you can use 4 butt connectors and a set of crimpers.

It exactly to avoid answers like this one that I posted pictures on how to do it correctly.

Don't cut, grind, pound, drill, machine or otherwise permanently modify something unless you have no other options.

yea its just I was searching the forums and i couldn't find anything on this so thanks. and I take it to put the wire back in you just push the tab slide wire in and then close those locking brackets that bend out of the way?...hopefully I will have this motor put in soon and then I'll have my car. timing is set on the motor all I have to do is pull the 7 bolt drop in the 6 then its all just little odds and ends from there...

Yes, the wire will snap in place when it's fully seated and the rear tabs lock it in.

My apologies.
I had not seen the article you wrote, and was unaware there was a simpler method. It seems as though I've been a little hasty to offer my thoughts lately. I think I'll take a break from posting for awhile and lurk.
:coy:

I'll delete my ill advised post.
Thanks go to Steve and Brian for catching my mistake and correcting it.
