420A Retorque Head?

I just recently rebuilt my head put all new timing stuff and water pump etc. Then I read my possible oil leakage is from the driver side far left rear bolt. So I've read to cut a few threads off then reinstall and retorque the head bolt. Can't I just loosen this stud shim it and torque it?

I’m not a 420a guy so I’m not familiar with having to take a couple threads off, but if that’s what people do on them then I’d stick to that. Also if it was my engine i would pull the head again to replace the head gasket. Usually once oil, coolant or air are leaking the gasket is toast.

There's no need to cut anything. That was only an issue with the original bolts. All replacement bolts and studs have been revised years ago.
