I am wondering how long the book calls for the time it takes to drop a trans, and install a new one?

Anywhere from 4-6 hrs, but I wouldn't go to the dealership. You'll pay the price of your arms and legs to have them do.

Yea, that's why I want to do it in my garage. I'm just wondering what kinda time I should plan on it being down.

yeah, hour haha. But most of us DSMers have done it enough and can get it out in an hour

Either go to a qualified car modifier or just go to a transmission shop who know how the do it and is well qualified to do it with the fastest down time.

i was told 2-4 hours when i got priced geting my swapped out from a speedshop around the beach
