Hows it going? Ive looked and looked in the threads and i can't find anyone with the same problem as mine similar but not the same.
Here is the problem!
Every day that i start my car it squels really bad for about 30 to 45 sec. I replaced all three belts thinking thats what the problem was but it did not work. When ever it's cold and i turn my deffoger on, while the car is warmed up i have a really loud squel so pretty much any time i turn on anything that involves the heating system it squeks pretty loud especially in 1st and 2nd gear it still squeks in all the other gears but not as much.
Can anyone help please?

Sounds like it's a belt tension issue to me. Start the car, and right when the squealing stops, turn on your headlights, if it squeals then too, your alt. belt is probably too loose. Do that process again a few hours later, but this time turn on your ac, if it squeals then it's that one. I've also had the squealing belt issue, but mine would only do it when it was cold and the wheels weren't strait on start up, threw new belts on and tightened up the power steering pump belt some, and that fixed the problem. Basically, you just need to figure out which of them it is, tighten it a little, then try it again.

mine did something similar to yours when my crank pully started to go south. I would at least check it out.

Also see if you have an oil leak near the timing belt cover. I had the same problem and thought they were just loose, but oil had gotten on them and that's what was making them squel. A quick way to see if oil is getting on the belts is there will be oil splatter on the inside of your hood above the belts. But what Dylan said is much more likely since you said you replaced all of them, and the new belts need to be tightend some after they have been on there for awhile. Welcome to DSMTUNERS btw.

I've had 2 DSMs and eventually encountered this problem. I'm sure it's your belt tension.

The belt beside the blue circle is usually the culprit. The bolt that adjusts the tension is below the power steering pump and just above the alternator. High tension should eliminate your squealing. Be sure to loosen the bolt on the side before messing with the adjustment bolt.

that was my problem:thumb:

I really appreciate the warm welcome thank you! As soon as this weather clears up i will try to tighten up the belts as dylan said to see if that works because when i changed all belts i made sure they were pretty tight but that sounds right breaking them in. I hope its not that serious! I will update as soon as i can thanks a lot!

Should have much more than a 1/4in deflection. Dont get em too tight they wont last :thumb:

It could be a bunch of things but I had the same exact problem, and I replaced all my belts and it still made the noise. Later on I found it was because the battery I got was not charged and the car's belts were running in overtime to compensate for low battery power. So be sure to check the battery and the alternator and see if the battery needs to be replaced or the alternator is working properly.

The weather is good. I just went outside to tighten up the belts and they are already tight any more and they felt like they would snap. Im going to try that next going to check the alternator and the battery. My battery looks like its leaking so that might be it to. By the way anyone here by aurora or close to the aurora mall that would be willing to help! Thanks for the suggestions anything helps! ill keep updated!

I'm close to where you live but i have no time to check it today.. A leaky battery is not your issue though. Bad crank pulley or belts that aren't tight are your issues. Also sometimes the belts will rub on the timing cover and make the same noise.

Make sure your belts are tensioned correctly - none should turn more than 90* by hand.

Make sure your crank pulley is in good shape. Make some reference marks on the inside and outside hubs and go for a drive. If marks are no longer lined up, replace crank pulley.

Make sure your waterpump pulley wasn't put on backwards. The side of the pulley with the deepest dish should mate with the waterpump. It's very common to screw this up and it's hard to see unless you really look at it.

you've had 4 different people tell you to take a look at your crank pully, have you checked it yet? if your belts are all tight like you say chances are it's you CRANK PULLEY

Great news! No More Squeaking!
It was my fault everyone kept on telling me to check my belts and i did but i left one out it was the ac belt and it was really loose and as soon as i tightened it up no more squeling!
Again i really appreciate everyones interest in helping! It good they make sites like this a lot of help thanks again!
