well my TSi needs a new windshield and i've got a ESi parts car with a good one. so the question is will the windshield out of the ESi work in the TSi? a local glass place says "no" because the TSi has a sunroof and the ESi doesn't, they're different. i'm calling B.S. and think that they should be interchangeable. anybody else run into this? thanks for any help.

I don't see why it would matter, they are the same body. The sunroof has nothing to do with it. As long as the width, height and slope is the same which it should be it'll be fine.

Body-wise all 2g parts are interchangeable with each other regardless of trim.

I'm calling BS too. My glass company didn't care to ask if my car had a sunroof when they replaced it. I have a TSi AWD without a sunroof.

thanks for the feed back, it sounded like B.S. when i heard it too. how cutting a hole in the roof has anything to do with the windshield is beyond me. thanks again.:thumb:

It'll fit fine. Are you planning on taking the windshield out yourself?

There is a difference - its so minor most people would never notice the difference. Sunroof 2g's have the interior lights in their rear view mirror housing -hence wiring for that is covered up by a blackout on the windsheild(as to not see wires from the outside of the car).

**But physically the glass is the same otherwise**
