well this morning on my way to work i had to fight my car to get it into every gear. I had to pump my clutch just to even convince it to go in and it wasnt smooth like its supposed to go i had to fight it in there by pushing it no grinding can be heard its was like trying to put the car into the gear without pushing the clutch in and weird thing was is i tried to give it alittle rev with the clutch pushed in, it didnt rev it moved as if i had the clutch let out but was still being pressed on. Any advice on whats going on here? i dont wanna just drop my tranny and just guess its the clutch if it isnt...:( any input is greatly appreciated:dsm:

Did you check for any holes or abrasions causing leaks on the clutch line? Also, is there enough clutch fluid in the reservoir? It'd be rare for something to enter the engine bay and damage that line, but low hydraulic pressure is a likely culprit of the symptoms you've described. Maybe one of the cylinders it damaged and leaking...

I dont think its your clutch if it happened all of a sudden during normal driving. I too would point to a hydraulic problem, especially since you said when you pumped the pedal in went into gear. Check where the master cylinder enters into the passenger capartment through the firewall. When my friends master cylinder went out there was fluid dripping right there. Also check the boot on the slave cylinder. If either place is wet then there is your problem.

im gonna check all around the master and slave cylinder today thanks for the input guys and i have a feeling it may be the low pressure as well when i checked last night the fluid didnt seem right but i never unscrew it so i may have a small leak but thanks for all the input guys ill let you know what happens

update on what happened i added some more fluid it was about half an inch from the max line and when i took it for a ride after pumping some fluid it still was giving me trouble then i went upstairs pondered what else it could be so i went to mess with my accessory belt since its sqeaking really bad then decided to try to take it for a spin again and see what happens and bam it works fine now i dont know what could of caused the delay but it seems to be working fine but i still do hear a sound in the tranny until i push the clutch in so i do know something will give soon so after the holidays i will most definitley get a new clutch and give SBC a call

but to the point...

thanks guys for all your help :thumb:

That sound your hearing until you push your clutch in is called the Throw out bearing. Its the bearing on your fork that rides on the clutch teeth while engaged. Then you push the clutch in the fork does not touch the clutch teeth causing the bearing to rest and not spin. Same concept as a skateboard bearing (it wears out and the more you use it the worse it sounds). B4 getting rid of my nt and switching to 4g63 i replaced 5 in a year to find out that my fork was bent slightly causing the tob to prematurely fail.

good look with it, my advice is replace throw out bearing with oem, oem fork, new axles while your in there, new axle gaskets (tranny side 2x) and clutch if it needs it. Also those flywheels go outa balance real ease so have it balanced at a local machine shop
