[RESOLVED] slave cylinder piston

With the clutch shiftfork at rest, the fork should be in the middle of the opening. The rod, which is being pushed by the piston, should be just resting on that fork. If the fork arm is more towards the driver's side, the clutchfork needs to be shimmed forward, or replaced.

A lot of problems that comes up with older DSM's, esp the 1G line, is that the clutch pedal assembly under the dash gets worn where ther will always be trouble in shifting and there is no adjustment possible. If you can move the clutch pedal up and down, the assembly is all but worn.

These units have to be replaced.

that tells me absolutely nothing about what i asked im asking about the piston on the slave cylinder you can see it on the outside of the tranny i need to know how far the piston should be out of the cylinder when the clutch is pushed in
