[RESOLVED] slave cylinder boot leak

the rubber boot on the slave fills with fliud swells up then springs a leak dumping all the pressure from the pedal leaving me with a clutch pedal stuck to the floor. Is the slave shot or wtf why is it doin this.

Yes the slave is shot.
Buy a new one.

yea if the seal is leaking, which yours is, be best off buying a new one.

The boot is for keeping dirt away from the seal, if it's filling with oil, it's obvious the seal is leaking.

Also, it's best to replace both - the master and the slave - for you don't know how old the master is or it's condition along with the condition of the fluid.

what would you rather hear, your clutch and flywheel are bad? yeah its the slave, be thankful its nothing more serious that involved some work

yea the scrapper seal is shot. time to replace and like said above I'd replace both the slave and master cylinder

If you dont want to buy new master and slave cylinders, they do sell a rebuild kit. I rebuilt both of mine about 1000 miles ago and they are working fine so far.

I wish I would've replaced mine sooner, because a couple years ago they went out and I ground a gear and broke my transmission. Fix yours before they cause other (expensive) problems. I got a brand new slave and master on ebay cheap and they work great.

I've found that oem clutch masters and slaves hold up better than the aftermarket counterparts.

I went this route and I was only able to find the repair kit for the slave cylinder at Advance Auto, the master cylinder I had to buy new because nobody here locally sold the repair kit for it..not even SATAN....

Yea just get a new one and a steel braided clutch line if you dont have one already, before it goes and leaves you stranded on the side of the road with your clutch pedal stuck to the floor.
