I recently got a 1997 Eclipse GST Spyder, it came with a T28 turbo and just a Greddy Type S BOV. It has a stage 2 Clutchmasters six puck clutch. On my way home in 5th gear doing 60, I was trying to accelerate and the clutch began slipping and then it wouldn't come out of 1st gear. When I got it home, I bled the clutch and it was fine. But I had thought the clutch was bad, so I had taken off the intercooler pipe to the sidemount from the throttle body. I removed the intake from the turbo as well. When I reassembled everything, while the car was running I forgot to plug the MAF in, then I did while it was running. When I took it for a run, the turbo was spooling but it would not let me go past 3000 rpm sometimes 4000 rpm. Is it a possible vacuum leak or does it sound like the MAF has gone bad? Any ideas other then that?

Being that you took off an intercooler pipe, my first guess would be a boost leak. Do a BLT.

Sounds like a pretty nice size boost leak my car was doing that when my intercooler piping popped off. wasnt as bad but i could go past like 2500 rpms. check all ## plumbing make sure everything is on tight with a good seal.

Its been fixed. It was a huge boost leak just like you guys said. Same thing happened, the piping from the throttle body to the sidemount was off. Soon as I fixed that we were good to go, 12psi and all. Thanks guys.
