I have a glowshift boost, oil pressure and water temp gauge setup. I drained the oil to put the new oil pressure sender unit in because the wire on the old one got ripped off.

I took the old one out and then the new one does not thread. The new one is 1/8" NPT... PT means pipe thread, but what does N mean? I checked napa and they didn't know. Where do I get an adapter so that the new sender can screw into and then screw that into the stock location???

I searched for like a half hour to find this answer but I couldn't.. sorry. Please help. Can't drive car until oil's back in.

Though I don't advise it....I just forced mine in. The oil filter housing is aluminum and rethreads very easy.

National Pipe Thread.

Find a bolt that threads into the hole (or take your old sender to a parts store to get it measured) you want to put your npt sender into and order an adapter from 1 of a dozen online shops.

I would tell you the size, but I have no idea.

Yea I don't know if forcing it is the best idea...

Does anybody know the size of the stock thread hole?

Through other threads, the thread for the oil filter housing is BSP. Hence the reason why you can't thread it in. to properly do it, you need to get a BSP > 1/8 NPT fitting converter.

I am going to get a npt tap for 5 bucks and rethread it.
