I did an engine swap and I have the car running and It runs pretty well until it starts missing. It will run smooth then it drops cyl#2 and if I keep going It will drop another cyl. The strange thing is that It will run fine for a minute or 2 if let it stall out then roll start or key start it. Even if i only let it be off for a second or 2. The car is a 96 with the RRE 1g in a 2g wiring harness so that I can run a 1g cas. I have tried 2 different cass and it does the same with either one. The only other wiring changes since the car ran with the old engine is that I had to extend the wiring for the ignition module, And I used a JMF relocation bracket for the coils and the transistor. Im at a loss all of my sensors worked fine before the engine swap. Should I put the transistor on the firewall or something instead of that bracket? Or should I run a ground from the body to the relocation bracket? I have checked the wiring and it seems to be fine. No broken connections or anything.
The miss is due to a loss of injector pulse. It has good strong spark still. If I move the injector plug from a good cyl to a dead one then the dead cyl fires just fine. Im not getting the irratic tach symptoms that came with the bad ignition transister the last time one failed on me.
Sorry mods wrong forum please move to the correct one.
