Searched but couldnt really fine an answer (although i may have missed it)...

i went home yesterday after classes, had to get some things done, and as always i took some time to check on my car in the garage...i usually check for leaks, then start the car let it run for about 20 min, check for leaks while its running, and then later that day when i leave i check for leaks and things again after its cooled and ran...

so heres my problem...i got in the car, sat down, turned the car on, it fired right up (surprisingly)...and i was sitting there...and then it hit me...i never pushed the clutch inWTF!!!...my dd is and automatic, guess i was just excited and forgotLOL...

i turned the car off, and tried again (without the clutch in) just to see if i was going crazy...and low and behold, it started with out the clutch in...

so, here i am asking my new found family...is anything broke? if something is, what is it? and is this a bad thing?

i know that in the 1g's (i suppose it is the same on the 2g's) there is a switch on the back of the clutch. you can unhook that switch to make it start without pushing the clutch in. I did it on my car a while ago. just dont forget that it's in gear and try to start it. if you dont break something or run into something, it will at least get your heart racing.

There is a switch (as tandrus said) that will allow you to start the car without pushing the clutch in. To locate it, you have to look all the way up the clutch pedal assembly and underneath the dash. There will be a white plug towards the top and on the left of the pedal assembly.

Here's more info about it - http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/dri...tarter-cutout-switch-thing-merged-10-6-a.html

Other than that, I'm not sure what else would cause that.

never thought it would be as simple as a switch...and here i was thinking another thing broke on my DSM...haha, ill check into the switch, thankx guys...
