I'm banking on the fuel filter.

+1 and whomever else suggested it. Filters are cheap and if it hasn't been changed at all might as well start there regardless to make sure it's clean.

You said you pinched a line? How bad of a pinch and where is it at?

People read the posts please. It was determined yesterday that he has a fuel problem. Car runs when spraying starting fluid in it. Looks like a plugged fuel filter, plugged line, plugged injectors. or bad fuel pump to me.

Yes and if the crank sensor is bad the ECU wont send fuel to the rail. Not getting fuel can be Many more things besides a Clogged filter or injectors. ROFL
I have NEVER in my 10+ years of working on DSM's seen a "Plugged line". The pump usually will NOT pick up sediment at the bottom of the tank, because it has a very fine mesh screen on the pick up. Then the fuel still goes has to go through the filter. The fuel pump is NOT a shop vac that will pick up big clumps of mud and shit. ROFL

So Next time don't be so quick to rule out a crank sensor or any other sensor for that matter.

You have some key words there like USUALLY as in it still can happen. Does happen once in a while. And if you read the thread you would notice the OP stated the car died from running out of fuel. Then will not start afterwards. Fuel pumps happen to die frequently because of being ran out of gas or to low on gas. Happens in just about every make of car. And the reason for ruling out sensors is because of the description the op gave about it running out of fuel!!!

Now boys, don't get testy... But I did see the "sock" on the bottom of the pump and you're right - looks like a good coffee filter made of fine mesh material. All I know is it's not getting fuel to the plugs - will probably resolve issue tomorrow with a qualified mechanic and will post you on the results. God bless mechanics!

was both the fuel pump and the fuel filter, replaced both and now all is good, learned lesson there for sure,

Wow... So much time, money and wasted effort could have been avoided there. Lets all go out and find some common sense.

1. If the car doesnt start, DO NOT keep cranking it hoping that it will start. An engine needs 3 things to run. Spark, fuel, and compression. The problem here was obviously fuel. If you would have checked for fuel at the rail like most mechanics would do first, you would have known what the problem was within minutes.

2. I know most of you dont have tons of experience. Thats fine. Please, PLEASE, dont give advice on something you know little about.
