[Resolved - bad rack] steering fluid coming out of resevior cap

For a little over 2 weeks i've been chasing a power steering leak and cannot find it. today i went to swap on a different resevior thinking that mine was leaking from a crack since there's where i sometime sfind som,e fluid. Well the one i put on was worse than my OEM one and the OEM checked out fine after cleanign it and inspecting. So i put it back together, fill it up and as i'm working the air bubbles out and topping it off i put the cap back on and 2 minutes later notice it's pushing fluid out the cap... WTF????

I've enver seen this, can anyone help me out , i don't know what to replace/check next and don't want to just throw parts at it until it's ixed since i don't have the fat wallet needed to do that.

Got if figured out. THere were some seals bad inside the steering rack and it was letting high pressure pass over into the low presure side. I originally tried just repoalcing an O-ring on one of the cross-over tubes that run from one end of the rack to the other. After that didn't work i called an old head i know and he told me that when those leak it's a bad internal seal most of the time and mentioned that if fluid bubbled out the resivior to just change the whole rack

well, 300 bucks later and some sore ass arms i've got a new rack, just waiting on an alignment at this point. I got it close by hand, but after laying in melting snow getting covered in power steering fluid for somewhere around 4-5 hours i just called it done once i could drive in a srtaight line with the wheel in center.

I tell you one thing, it's a PITA to get your arm all the way down the back of the firewall to undo the steering knuckle and 2 fluid lines. I was however able to do it without dropping the crossmember or exhaust

I just pulled those 2 "plates" that tie the undersides of the suspension together, took the main sway bar bolts out and pulled it right out the driver side with a little twisting and prying.

FUnny and best part is, the new one took about 20 minutes to have in, lined up with the wheel and bolted down solid :

Haha that's awesome about the snow comment.

I spent last weekend laying in melting snow try to get my hand to get a 1/2 shaft out of the transmission after skinning myself getting the carrier bearing off.
