I'm considering looping my power steering rack while I have the motor out. I do not care for the manual rack due to increased steering turns from lock to lock and I don't mind having to fight the unpowered power steering to get the thing turned, hell I'm spooled....

The question is How long have you gone with the power steering looped together and have you had any issues.

Thanks

thanks, I know on mustangs they have different displacement cylinders for return and forward, which makes it impossible to loop.

What is looping your power steering?
What purpose would this serve?

looping your forward and return line coming off the steering rack. Allows you to elimenate the power steering pump and essentially convert your rack to a manual. Hard as hell to turn and might possible wear out rather quick.

Its not that hard to turn or drive. Iv had mine this way for 2 years now. Like Defiant said itll outlast your interest in the car.

Not to bring this thread back from the dead or anything, but :

1) How much fluid should be left in the rack?

2) Will the fluid ever need to be changed? It's fun enough doing it with the pump, but without it, I could imagine it would be next to impossible
