Well a little bit ago in the negative 50 degree weather we had here my battery froze.
I know this is a sign of a weak battery, and I fired up my car and let it run when it was warmer.
Now jump ahead a week and when I turn on my lights, my radio shuts off, and my gauge back lights are barely visible.

Is this a bad battery or alternator? My battery is charging as of now.
Any insight to what this is?

if its while your car is running, its definitely your alternator, but dont be fooled, a fouled out battery in the first placed could have triggered your alternator to mess up

Never ever force an alternator to charge a dead battery. If the battery is dead, charge it and put it back in your car. Chances are you killed your alternator.

Just take it to autozone and have them test it. Its free. But for your radio to shut off its due to low voltage. But it could be either one or both. I have had the same thing happen to me. Also did you ever check for corrosion on your battery terminals? That could be it too.

Alternator is dead, bought a new one 175$ :toobad:

I'm starting to hate Dsms.
They're not all that keen on you, either.
