Guys could someone, explain why a 98 gst has no coolant sensor??? the reservoir doesnt get any wires... and i see nothing around... maybe my gst didnt come with it? Its weird because as far as my VIN number says its a premium one so it should have it... If does not, is there any way to make it work? buy a reservoir with a sensor and connect it somewhere.. and tell the ecu that exists?? - YES i know it not a computer BIOS but i just want my light to go on!!! haha. Some times it gets empty... there might be leak, in the reservoir cap as it got burned from previous owner and enters a little air (by the way that cap its impossible to find unless i buy a new reservoir, if someone knows where to get one)
thanks a lot!!

So then both of these threads are incorrect (or partially incorrect)?

I was under the impression the windshield washer light looked like a little tank with a bit of fluid in the bottom (see image in 2nd linked thread).

Yes, you are right,

My 95 GST came with both lights, Windshield and Radiator...:hellyeah:

My 98 GST Spyder Didn't have the Radiator Sensor....:hmm:

Maybe, they came on the 1g and 2ga, But not on 2gb?.:tease:

Well, I know the 2gb didn't have the overflow sensor (confirmed between my '95 and my bro's '99). I'm more curious if the light is in the 2gb cluster and not used, or if something else is going on with it. I don't remember what bulbs my bro's '99 cluster had in it, so maybe the image is on the insert, but there's no bulb behind it :idontknow:

My 95 has the sensor, the 97 doesn't.

The dash little orange radiator carousel looking light is low windshield washer fluid.
I'm sorry that's wrong. That orange radiator carousel light probably is the low coolant level on 1g and 2ga. My 99 (2gb) doesn't have that light as there is no low coolant level indicator on 2gb's. It does have a low washer fluid light but it's never been on so I don't know what it looks like. Snowborder is probably right about it being a "little tank with a bit of fluid in the bottom".

Interesting post about presence/absence of dash indicator bulbs: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/new...asher-fluid-light-location.html#post151921986.

Does anyone (snowborder? - BTW your mentioned link doesn't work) have a pic of the 2gb's washer fluid light on?

Is it absolutly true that 2gb's dind't came with the sensor and its light in the dash? seem, so foolish to take it out since its a good indicator of its proper function... And still the question remains, is it possible to make it happen? or the light in the dash even thoug its there its not "activated". Im not the only person wondering if its possible right? someone should have ask this in dsms history...

Snowboarder, you posted on that link that some ligths are factory disabled, do you or anybody knows why? is it dificult to activate them?

i cant beleive a car like this doesn't have the low oil level light on....

That link is interesting. Thanks for sharing that.

Which link didn't work for you? They both work for me.

I'm not sure if my brother has any pictures/info on his '99 cluster from before he put LED's in it. My guess is no. It'd be ideal if someone who had a stock 2gb cluster to pull it and see what bulbs are in it, and then reference then reference this post and see if the washer light has a bulb.

As for re-enabling something, you'd have to verify that the appropriate sensor is installed first, and then see if there's a bulb for it in the cluster. I'm not sure if it's that simple or not though, as I've never looked to re-enable a factory light.

My 95 gsx has the low coolant sensor on the resivor weird,i tought only gsx had them, but it don't even work, when i have low coolant the light dosent even come on. Maybe my sensor is bad who knows.

It's attached to the bottom of the overflow tank. When I ditched my overflow tank (thanks short route piping), the light came on. Then I ditched the sensor, and the light went away. Go figure.

The 97 doesn't, and I can't remember if the 96 did. If it's a 2Ga/2Gb thing it should have I suppose.

My curiosity though was that ASA shows that all years have it. That was all. It's been verified that 2ga's have it and 2gb's don't.

I would like to know:
-why ASA doesn't distinguish this?
-what is going on with the cluster for a 2gb - does it have a bulb behind it, is there nothing, something else?

I forgot to mention, that when i was looking for the reservoir cap, which is no longer a replacement part, at the Mitsubishi ASA u can see that all 2gs... have a sensor, or maybe they didnt mind on changing the diagram for 2gbs?

2ga Owners: that sensor where does it go? do we have that other end in our 2gbs.. ?

Brian -

I will see if I can pull my brother's cluster some time in the next day or two and answer that for you.

As for the sensor, it plugs in on the passenger side near the front wheel, by the BCS. Where it goes from there is a matter of following the wires. Yikes.

Well it seems that no one so far has seen a 2gb with the sensor. I'll have to see if I can get into my brother's 2gb cluster to check for the light.

An interesting look at the "bigger" picture. My source for Eagle parts certainly does not show the sensor for the '96-'98 Talon and mirrors the tank part numbers below. I do wonder why ASA doesn't list that sensor correctly, though -- and this is just speculation -- there is a pretty steep difference in price between the two.

I actually just sent my Mitsu contact an e-mail for some further clarification since I found there's two different tank assembly options offered. But even if that's true, then I don't think '96 models should have the sensor, and it would be only early '95's that do (assuming one part number is a sensored tank and the other isn't).

Brian, do you want me to look in PAIS and see if I can find anything listed for the Talon?

I can't imagine PAIS being any different, but to be thorough, it can't hurt anything. It irks me that there aren't any TSB involving either of those numbers anywhere.

Honestly, I'm more interested to hear back from your Mitsu contact. :)
