I have a 1g talon tsi awd that I bought about a month ago for 1,000(see my profile for info on what it came with). The steering wheel wobbles a bit when over 60mph. From what I can see all of the bushings, shocks, springs and componets are either still factory or have not been replaced for a long time. I have been completing a large maintenance list that is recommended to complete before buying upgrades. my goal is to have 350-400awhp. I would like to know can anyone recommend a suspension brand and setup for street driving and some stoplight races that is not nessessarily cheep but is a pretty good price(I believe you get what you pay for) Any help is welcomed

Well if your steering wheel is just shaking a little then it more than likely is just your tires.

Get some new ones, have them balanced, then get an alignment. That should clear it up for you and me significantly cheaper than all new struts.

Unless of course you want to get aftermarket suspension because you want to upgrade.

Topic has been covered about a billion times.

Search through handling tech, lots of guys here have given a review and plenty of suggestions for upgrades.

Good job on the maintenance! keep it up

Stoplight races are illegal and should not be discussed (or even mentioned) on this site. If you want to know how your car can be made to handle better, there are countless threads on the subject as dsm03 mentioned.

Please do some searching and refrain from talking about street racing or anything else that is both illegal and brings more attention to those of us who enjoy performance cars.

If you have the money for a decent coil over set up the Megan Racing coil over set isn't bad. If you are looking for cheap Eibach sells lowering springs that function very well for a good price. There are also several options for struts.

Of course there are 40-80 dollar coil overs you could get on Ebay if you don't mind changing your coil over about once every 3-4 months and a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE ride, plus you'd most likely lose stock performance.

If you do not know how to do a shake test or know much about suspensions i would suggest taking it to a shop that does. Suspension issues are all in the touch and feel of the issue so know how is a must. It never hurts to learn something new but it can hurt the wallet at times.

A good factory replacement brand for tie-rods, bushings and ball joints would be MOOG, other than that stick with parts that carry a lifetime warranty.

To GUSU Are you kidding WTFme? .....This is a great :Dsite dedicated to dsm's and real drivers. I am not saying that I will race today or that I do it for money or anything else. Real cops will not:nono: be on here looking for someone who mentions that they pull away from stoplights fast (sometimes)when if they look on the site(and there are dozens of dsm sites) there are dozens of people that do upgrades that make their cars extremely fast. I know plenty of cops and I think anyone with common :aha:sense knows that these things happen (you may be a little bit paranoid) if you are uncomfortable with the statement thats:thumb: Ok. I just think you might be in the wrong business and you may want to take up law since you are so into it.

*random, semi-literate BS*
you may want to take up law since you are so into it.
You may want to read the rules.

That may look like a suggestion, but I assure you it isn't simply a "suggestion". :nono:
