HELP! I lost ALL the keys to my Talon, WHAT CAN I DO NOW? I am illegal parked, at a festival. Finding out the Tower, is gonna be a nightmare, I am in germany, can't speak a lick of german and there is no indication of whose property I am parked on. How can I get another set of keys.

i dunno about 2gs but on my car at least there was an engine key number on the key, its exxxx on mine, (x being some number) i always assumed if you have that number you can go to the dealer and ask to make a copy of that number, which is why i dont let anyone drive or touch my keys...along with the fact that im paranoid and love my talon to death....but either way, see if the previous owner, or you wrote that number down somewhere...the previous owner of my car wrote it down on the last page of the original booklet that came with the car...(whoms name is escaping me right now...)

You have to buy a new key/lock cylinder combo at an auto parts store orf take the lock cylinder out and take it to a key maker. It is just easier to go to a parts store and get a lock assembly and key for it. Then get copies of that key made so you don't have this problem.

I had to do this when I was at shootout. My key broke in the door on the way down. Went to the Chrysler dealer in Sandusky with my ownership and ID, they gave me the code. Unfortunately they didn't have the proper blank there, so I had to go to a locksmith and get him to cut it for me.
Cost me 12 bucks.

so u guys think i can go to a dealership with the title, vin, and my id and i can get my key made?

Just bring your Title and Id (title has the vin on it) to the mitsubishi or chrysler dealer, most you will spend is 20.00 bucks, mine cost 4.00

Actually the dealership probably wont have your key number, for a 93. They didn't for my 93. Had to call a locksmith. Luckily i had AAA, and they covered 100$ out of a 130$ locksmith bill.
Are both of your keys, the same? or is your ignition key different then the door keys? My 85 oldsmobile cutlass supreme is different. So your going to want to take out the ignition lock assembly and get the code off of it. Then you can give that code to a locksmith and they will be able to cut you a key. If its the same as the doors, it'd probably be easier to get the lock out of the door and get the code..
Of course if you have the money, you can have a locksmith do it. But the locksmith that came out to my car couldn't put this clip right back in the lock, and ended up leaving and I have to put everything back together! nedleess to say I didnt have to pay the 30bucks.

gm should have the codes for a 93, its not that old and last i checked they told me that had it up til 85, may depend on the dealership.

Hot wire that thing!!!! Pop the plastic piece off from under the steering wheel. Find the postive feed wire to the ignition, run 12 volts to it, and then run 12v to the strater wire (just until it starts). Sh!t will fire right up!! :thumb: :D :D

There is no programming involved with the keys, nor does the security system care what keys are used. As usual, the dealer is full of shit. The keys only need to be cut to shape. If they can get the pattern for yours from the VIN, you should only need the Owner's Certificate, and picture ID that matches the registered owner.

Ok, I know this cause I've had key's made tons of times... The dealer can cut you a key by your vin... All you need is proof of ownership! The damn car doesn't have to be there at all! Take your title, or registration to the Mitsubishi Dealership, tell the guy at the parts counter you need a new master key and here's the title... he'll grab a little tool, look up the digits he needs for your vin number... and put them in the tool and then do some thing else with it and boom, new key!

As far as the remote asuming you have the stock alarm... The remote is cheap... the programming is expensive! So, I sugjest just unplug the damn thing and get an aftermarket alarm.

Try this to reprogram your replacement entry remote.

That is awsome! My car had the Alarm box... but from the wire diagram... the harness wasn't even wired up right... wires are going to area's that aren't being used...? strange Anyways...

Thats hot! I wonder if I could find a stock alarm now LOL!

*Edit*
Oh yeah, sorry... This is for you Locke :thumb: :rocks:
