HELP! I lost ALL the keys to my Talon, WHAT CAN I DO NOW? I am illegal parked, at a festival. Finding out the Tower, is gonna be a nightmare, I am in germany, can't speak a lick of german and there is no indication of whose property I am parked on. How can I get another set of keys.

how much $.

It costs nothing to get the key code from the dealer. Get it and then go to the nearest lock smith. They can cut a new key with the key code. It'll cost you $10-$15 at the dealer to cut a key. Might cost you $5 at a lock smith.

Make sure you bring several forms of ID. Dealer told me it was the new policy because there has been some kind of fraud going around. That was last year though.

Seriously though, you might be able to get a coathanger in your window, though its not recomended as you could scrape your paint or whatnot. Also, I guess it would be hard to unlatch our locks.

Um, he said that he lost his keys. Not locked them in the car. If he does end up jimmy-ing the door open with a coat hanger where does that get him? Assuming the car is locked in the first place. But in response to original post, go into a locksmith shop, and explain it to them. They are generally pretty helpful people and they will take care of ya good. Good luck

Okay Yeah I did read where he lost his keys but he might have lost them in the car (you never know) if he did and he does'nt have power door locks the 1g cars are so easy to get into with a slimjim (I worked as a tow truck driver for awhile and I got into my 90 in like 15 seconds) even if it is power locks you can still do it you just have to be careful.
I don't know if this will help (probabally not) but just thought I would throw it in.

:) :dsm:

$8 is a rip.. if your talking about uncut keys, I can get them for $1.50 at my work. One of the things I do at work is copy keys. They dont have any DSM keys with the plastic head though.

My dealer gave me a free copy of my key when they locked them inside the car (genius). It was also when they told me that my turbo was blown, when in actuality they had put my timing belt on wrong (more genius). I kept insisting that i knew what I was talking about when I told them the timing was wrong and the turbo was fine, but I'm just a dumb kid. After they finally reparied my car for free (the right way), I haven't been back. Chrysler Dealers = Satan too.

I have, took it to a dodge/chrysler, and then they sent me to a Mitsu dealer, fun. LOL, then i found a dodge dealer that has the right tools for eagles.

well i called the chrysler dealership and they said that they didnt provide that kind of service? oh well, i called the previous owner and he had an exxtra set he forgot to give me when i boght the car and is mailing them to me. Phew *wipes sweat off frohead*

i went to macintyre dodge in LH, they can get the keys, but told me to go to a lock smith. But i got my keys off of ebay, the blanks, and im going to have the lock smith cut them..
I would get another set of keys and put them on the car some where, just incase you lose another set :thumb:

What?!? What exactly did you ask them? And what exactly did they tell you they don't do?

If you walk into the service department with your license, and title. They WILL look up your vin and what your key code is.

Remember, given the distinctive differences in VINs for Mits, Plymouth and Eagle, You can only get VIN info for a Mitsubishi at a Mitsubishi dealer. Eagle and Plymouth VIN info can be found at a Chrysler dealer.

Try again. If the dealer is close enough, drive there. Take your Title and license. Tell them you want to look up your VIN to get your key code. (which is good practice in case you lose a key again) They should provide this service for FREE. If they say they can't, it's total BS.

If you make no progress at the dealer, send me your contact info (name, address, number) and make, model, and the VIN for the car. Also send me the name, address and number of the dealership you went to. Just send me a PM with all that. I'll make some calls to some coeworkers within Chrysler and we'll get you set up.

NOTE: See my previous post above regarding older VIN's being inaccessable now.

Morphius, your right about the age thing on dsm's, thats what they said to me about my eagle, they could't stamp them cuz of how old they where, and tried to get $18 out of me for a second set of keys, so i found them on ebay, and i found a lock smith about 30mins from here that he said if i have the blanks he can get me a match, "HOPEFULY"

Well i didnt actully call i had my mom call becuase i was at a wrestling tournament all saturday. And i gave her my vin # and she said when she asked for the key code they said they didnt provide that type of service and that was that. But i have another key in the mail so its all good.

bad idea i think. And the fact that you just said it on a forum..LOL. If i were you tho, Put a spare in your wallet. that seems to be the best idea.

Eh, you just can't find a really "secret" spot. Although I'd take one of those over the plastic "card key" that AAA gives away. They like to come apart inside expensive locks.

I worked on a grand am that had 2 keys duct taped under the front lip, it was a woman's car so.... yah know

anywho, i'd keep extra all the time, and watch out older keys like to crack and break off at the worst times.

I lose my keys all the time. I have also locked them in the car more than once. As a result, I now carry an extra in my wallet at all time. In addition, I purchased "key ringers" from the internet - if you lose a set of keys, you push the button on the other set's "keyringer" and it emits a high pitched tone which acitivates the lost keyringer and makes it beep. You find it by the beeping sound. Lost it the other day, and found it this way lying on the ground outside my house!
