HELP! I lost ALL the keys to my Talon, WHAT CAN I DO NOW? I am illegal parked, at a festival. Finding out the Tower, is gonna be a nightmare, I am in germany, can't speak a lick of german and there is no indication of whose property I am parked on. How can I get another set of keys.

Call a local dodge/chrylser or mitsu dealership and give them your vin. They can have you a new key cut, I think it costs like $20. Other than that, you may need to get the locks repleaced. I've never stolen a car so I wouldn't be the one to ask about getting the car running without a key, however I'd imagine that it would't be that hard to you knew what you were doing. Something with the ignition switch power lead and a ground relay. But I wouldn't mess with it. Good luck man.

Yeah I've had this happen to me with numerous cars. Just goto a mitsu dealership and they can cut you new keys if you give them the VIN # of the car. You have to present proof of ownership however, such as the title, registration, and your driver's license. If you dont have any of these then they will deny the keys to you. I always get them cut for around $3-$5...alot cheaper than getting new locks and keys for everything (or getting a locksmith to fabricate a new key based on the cylinder). Good luck man.

i just had a key made for my talon today at the chrysler/jeep/eagle dealer. took in the title with the VIN on it and they used that info to cut a new key. i was expecting it to be 15-20 bucks...but the guy charged me like $2.35. can't beat that!

Tghis happened to me and I had a locksmith come by and make the keys out of the passenger door lock. Cost about $85 though... but he opened my car as well... so it wasn't that bad.

I some how managed to lose the key to my 92 eagle talon. I can't find the damn thing anywhere. So how can i get a new one? Can i go to a dealer with my title and have them cut me a new key? Or do i have to replace my ignition and door locks?

Goto the dealer with the vin and bring your title just in case.
They can cut you a new one with the vin 99% of the time.

I paid a lock smith 75 bucks to cut me a new one. Places around me usually charge $120 but the car was next door to the store.

I paid $15 at the dealer when I locked my only key in the car, and my uncle couldn't get it open with a "slim jim."

I guess I payed for them to come to me. I lost my key at the paintball field. And had the key made on Sunday.

one time I took a 1/4 inche thick piece of metal....and jammed it between the door and the the roof (on a 1g of course..) and went ahead and pryed the door out just enough for a buddy to stick another smaller metal rod in there and unlock my door.

My car was running, with my key inside. I had a spare, but I grabbed the wrong spare (from a junkyard car) that looked the exact same...needless to say we couldnt figure out why it didnt work.

Carmax mitsubishi charged me $2.45 to cut me new keys. You'll definetly need to have your registration and title with you (along with drivers license) or they will deny you service.

just for future reference.

I once had to get a key made for my 91 laser, It had a different key for the doors than the ignition, but I had the ignition key, just no door key.

Took it to a locksmith and he charged me 15$ to make a key and this is how he did it:

1. Get the correct key blank
2. File the top/bottom edges of it so its very impressionable
3. Put it in the door and turn it back and forth for the pins to make an impression on the key
4. File the impressions down until you get it right.
5. Make a few spares :)

i just picked up my shell last night, well i paid for it and he gave me the key but we couldnt tow it due to the chicago snow. in the process i lost the key..

if i cannt find this key.. how the hell do i obtain a new one? like a key smith, mitsubishi?

i have ran into this a few times and its really simple.alot of people think to call the lock smith and thats understandable but it will cost you alot more than the dealer.take either you resistration ot title to the DEALER and tell them what happened and they will cut you a key.the vin # is used to get a key cut for your car thats will work and will cost you around $5.00 to $15.00.mitsu made mine last week for $15.00 and took about five minutes to make, cant beat that.

GO TO THE DEALER WITH THE VIN # AND THEY WILL CUT YOU A KEY THAT WILL WORK AND AT A LOGICAL PRICE.

Yes, all the keys for your car will open the doors and start the car, except for the valet key. The valet key can't unlock the glove box or the hatch.

Run to any office supplie place. (meant for file cabnits i think) They have this strong magnetic plastic box. I stuck it on top of my gas tank. I have a spare key in there for that just in case.... or "Opps, locked my keys in the car." Havent had to use it yet but you never know........
Its like 5 bucks, not a bad investment. What does a dealer charge to cut a new key anyway?
