I replaced throttle body shaft seals, now I have a high idle. I checked for boost leaks and I cannot seems to find any so I was thinking I might not have lined up the TPS properly, would a misaligned TPS cause a high idle?

Did you make sure that the butterfly plate closes fully and isn't catching on anything? I had that issue on my first rebuild and was causing an high idle by allowing extra air to the motor.

Now that I think about it, it did seem to slightly stick when closed, but it looked like it was closed all the way. So are you saying a TPS won't cause a high idle?

What causes a higher idle is extra air bypass the throttle plate. Double check the plate as it should not stick at all. It should be a fluid motion of opening and closing.

What I do now is unscrew the 2 screws that tighten down the plate enough so it's moveable. With it moveable, open the the throttle by using the spring arm on the side and let it snap close. Do that a few times, tighten the screws and check to see if it's catching at all.

Your TPS should be set so it shows a voltage reading of 0.63v at 0% throttle.

I think its showing 10% at idle, is this correct?

for a 1g dsm? Someone told me that around 10% at idle is normal. How do I adjust that?

At idle, you are off the pedal so you are at 0% throttle. Your TPS could be adjusted wrong and indicating more throttle % than what is actually there. Also if your plate is sticking then that can affect your throttle position a little as well.

It was I 10% before I put the new seals on, I haven't checked it sense.
