1G Replaced speedo cable now mph is off

Replaced my jumpy squeaky cable with a new oem one.. now im almost exactly 10mph off whe driving... 40 is 50... 50 is 60... etc

Arr these adjustable somehow? Feel like its a pretty straight forward no adjustment system but cant explain the change

Ya that was it... after about 60 miles of driving it is now only 4mph off... i think the cluster might be funky still.. it gets floating needle syndrome around 70mph fluttering a tad.. i keep checking it with a gps speedo app i have.. its better than 10mph off though.

Your gauge is worn out. When it floats ( slow sway up and down) its the gauge. Sadly almost any cluster you find for these cars will be worn. Time to go aftermarket

With the cable set up whats available for after market?

Youd have to convert to electrical 2g vss. Then you can run autometer/speedhut.

Is that a bolt on process.. if so it should be easy enough.. ive converted hondas to digital speedos

I am also interested in using the 2g speed sensor. What is needed to convert the 1g to use it.

From my understanding its swapping the vss then either buying or making a pigtail to run your wires... pin 18 on ecu gets the signal and then you would run an ignition 12v and a ground...
