:confused: I have a 96 GS, .. 420a N/T, .. I need to replace the Thermostat Housing Case, ... NOT just bell housing that holds the Thermostat. BUT I can not get to the Bottom bolt 13MM I think. It looks like the AC Compressor is right in front of it. Any Ideas or how pics, instructions or videos. See the link, its #10 on this site

Please help :pray: :ohdamn: :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Drain some coolant out of the system so you can take off your upper radiator hose from the thermostat housing. That should free up some space to get a socket in there.

I believe when I took off the thermostat housing last, that the power steering pump bracket was in the way, and had to be removed. I recall being rather upset at how a simple task was becoming rather difficult.

Yeah , .. so Im stuck.

** Thats all I need for now to make this car driveable, dealer wanted 300.00 for the part new, .. I found a wrecked car complete w/ nice new aftermarket wheels for 100.00, thats right 1 Hundred. so I need to take this Fker out.

So, remove the P/S then.

yeah, I was just looking for a quick'R way and just make sure I was not missing anything. I think I can keep the ps unit complete just do a partial drop on the bracket to gain access, ... This will be my 1st time around and my Haynes Manual will be close at hand, .. the pics dont help to much and the step by step isn't too clear, ... I will try on the donor car 1st:D

Your power steering pump isn't tough to take out...it really shouldn't take you more than a few minutes. Don't go looking for quicker ways...just follow your Haynes manual step by step...anybody who has logged any real time under the hood of their car will tell you that "shortcuts" almost always lead to broken tools/lines/wires/fittings/bulbs/hoses/harnesses/hearts, and you usually end up making the job ten times bigger than it ever should have been in the first place.

This will be my 1st time around and my Haynes Manual will be close at hand...I will try on the donor car 1st:D
