I had my 1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS inspected some days ago and they found a longitudinal leakage from rust on my rear brake lines.

I was thinking of either replacing the whole brake line or just the part where it rusted but if I were to replace the whole line I would have to go from the ABS pump to the brake caliper lines which is much more trouble then I would like.

What do you all think I should do.

If you’re going to repair it don’t use a compression fitting. Cut out the section you need to replace (use a small tubing cutter, of course), put flare nuts on the pipe, flare the ends, and connect them to a new piece of hard line with a flare union.
