Hey there guys. I have an Eagle stroker crank that has worn thrust surfaces, I called Eagle and they don't repair their cranks and couldn't recommend anyone to me. The local shop here has terrible reviews and I wouldn't trust them with anything.
Is the crank worth reusing? If so can you recommend anyone?
Option 2 is making a crank walk coffee table....

It very well be damaged enough not to use it, may have to replace it, with a crank I wouldn't chance it is questionable.

Does anyone have experience having the thrust surface repaired? I really don't want to toss out a $600+ crank if it's salvageable. Maybe BogusSVO will chime in.

Once its too bad it may be beyond repair, find another used one, or don't run a eagle crank not too many choices.

Well I know that the mains and rods journals can be welded and ground back.

Now if that can be done to the thrust surface, I honestly can not say.

I do know that none of the main bearing makers offer an oversized thrust bearing.

After a search on google, you may want to call and check out theses guys.

I have not dealt with them, so if you choose to try them, let us all know how it went.

Ya I noticed the same thing. That's the same company I found! I sent them an email yesterday.
Really hoping the crank can be repaired.

Yes thrust surfaces can be welded and ground back, it is done to diesels all the time and also very expensive cranks from race boats.

I also think enginetech has an oversize thrust washer .015.

I'd go to ShafTech Ltd: Crankshaft Modification/Repair Guys do amazing work, and well priced. My company has been known to even send some salvage work their way, have yet to hear a complain. Phone number is 419-435-6372, ask for Nick and tell him Steve sent you, he can hook you up.
Thanks for the referral. I sent them an email the other day and just heard back this morning.

Well this is what I was afraid of, they can indeed repair the crank. However to bring it back to original spec and nitrating it will be about $500 bucks. Looks like I'm on the hunt for a new crank. :sosad:

Does anyone have a reference to the proper thrust specs on our cranks?
