So I just bought a car that has a MAF translator on it, but it also has DSMlink(not sure if its v3 lite, or v3, but it has USB cable so its one of those two). Well the translator is missing half of its case/body, and I worry about it failing, and frankly with DSMlink its redundant as it has provisions to run GM maf from what I recall?
I want to remove it because it will be one less thing to break, and since its missing half of its case its probably more likely to break, but I don't want to alter the car's tune, at least not until I have a chance to figure out what it's current state of tune looks like.
The car runs good atm and I don't want to start from scratch on the tune if it's avoidable, just not sure how to dive into this with two separate tuning devices in place and not knowing how either is setup yet. Doesn't help matters that my laptop is currently(and will be for a while) inaccessible to me...
