General MAF Translator

Here is the deal:

This is a MAF-T and its being sold for about $110 I think but the catch is I am not sure weather or not all MAF translators are the same, or is this one different from the one need for our DSM's.

To my knowledge that translator will NOT have the proper programming for our DSM's. That one is set up for GM cars using a larger GM mas.

it looks like and sounds like the correct one for a dsm. the reason people use them, for things like blow-thru setups, are because they use a 3 or 3.5" GM Maft. and for programming, you tune it with a pocketlogger.

people in 1g's have bought 2g maf-t's and had problems so I can't see how a GM maf-t would work on a dsm period. If so maybe someone can enlighten us?

That's because they probably got a 2g MAS and no AFC to tune with. MAS readings from a 1G unit and a 2G unit are different, you can't use a 2G piece without an AFC.

That translator you see on ebay looks like it's programmed for GM cars. They have translators that are programmed to work with DSM ecu's. If you get the one on eBay, it might not work properly.
