I'm going to be removing my a/c lines, pump and condenser soon and have a question about the lines going into the firewall. Shouldn't those be plugged off? And what I would I use? My belief is that if I don't plug them off I won't have a sealed system, and my heater nor my outside air will work right.

That will not effect anything. But if you wanted to be complete you would remove the A/C evaporator coil from under the dash and then that plug on the firewall would not even be there.

If you jsut want to block it off make a block off plate out of sheet metal and bolt it on with the 2 factory bolts.

Hope this helps.

If there is a chance you may reinstall the A/C at some point, I would just leave the evap and bolt a plate over it to keep out small furry things.

If you want to shave every ounce of weight and like working under the dash, pull it out and plug the firewall.

I just bought the plug from the mitsu dealer 5 bucks since im not using ac i took it out and cut off the pipes so the box is in the dash but the plug is perfect from the factory.

Are you talking about a plug that fills that hole? What's the part number? Mine has been open for the last few years. I've never had any problems but it would be nice to have it filled.

Thanks everyone for the helpful replies!! I'm going to leave the evap, and cover the hole with sheet metal. Seems to be the best solution for me,and I can put everything back on if needed. Thanks again !!:thumb:
