Im trying to remove the compressor housing from the hotside of my 68hta so that i can send it in to be ceramic coated. However, i can't seem to separate the two pieces after removing the clamshell clamp. Is there more to it then i am missing? Ive let it soak for awhile with some WD-40 but that didnt want to free it up either.

I also noticed that the hotside doesnt have the FP logo branded anywhere on it like im accustomed to seeing. Did all 68hta come with that branding? I was told this was an 68hta, and im pretty sure it is, but i guess its possible to have a different hotside, how can i tell?

there is a c-clip behind the comp housing.
this should be remove to detach the comp housing.
hth...

You don't need to remove the compressor cover c-clip. Hold the turbo upright with the comp wheel facing up. Give the turbine housing a few good hits with a hammer. It should separate. Obviously be careful removing the assembly, as you do not want to damage the turbine fins.

That doesnt look right. Post a pic of the compressor housing and wheel. I dont think that turbo comes with an adjustable arm. And the aboce posts are correct. If youre just trying to get the turbine housing by itelf all you need to remove is the clamp.

The COMPRESSOR housing (cold side) is held on with the c-clip. The TURBINE housing (hot side) is held on with the v-band clamp which you've removed. Assuming that's the side you're talking about, spray it with some penetrating oil around the seam and hold it turbine side down and tap evenly all around with a hammer. It shouldn't take much effort to separate it. Early HTA68s used standard Mitsu 7cm turbine housings, later ones went to the FP 8cm housing, then they later went from the TD05H turbine wheel to their slightly larger 9 blade wheel.

The original wastegate it came with got damaged in shipping which bent the rod not allowing the flapper to shut all the way. I had to get a new one. This one is also 18psi and is of a trusted manufacturer, so i think ill be good. I looked up a guide on how to properly set the arm as well.
