How do I get the turbo off of the turbine housing while its all still in the car? The turbo is held on by some metal strap and has a square clip that locks it to itself. Does that make sense? Its just one piece that curves up on each end, wrapped around the turbo/housing and has a square metal piece that connects the two curved pieces. Only way looks like to squeeze the curved pieces and pull the square out, but doesn't look like there will be enough room to do so. I don't know...

What kind of turbo are you running? It sounds like its a Mitsu by your description of parts. If so, those curved peices are like a vband clamp that hold it together. There is a hinge on one side (probably the side your looking at) & on the opposite side there will be a nut & bolt. Remove the nut & bolt & the vband should come right off. Then you may have to pry abit to seperate the two sections. There is normally a locating dowl, so remember to line the housings up properly when re-installing them. Also it should be a given but be careful when seperating/installing the pieces to prevent any damage to the turbine wheel.

Yea, I think it is a vband clamp, here is a picture of it:

That 10mm bolt would be on the backside of the turbo? And I am planning on putting a ported 16g turbine housing on, do I use that same clamp or is there something else I can use?

Yes that 10mm bolt will be on the back side, usually that 10mm bolt is on the front, and you can use the same vband clamp to seal the turbo. Might as well ditch that 1g manifold and pick up a 2g manifold a port match it to your ported 16g housing for more flow

I have a ported Evo 3 manifold that will be going on. I'll look for that 10mm bolt. Thanks :thumb:
