Remove A/C to do BSE with engine in car?

It looks like the AC compressor will get in the way when I go to lower the engine and I don't want to just find out by dropping it and I didn't find anything about it in the vfaq tutorial on it so I just wanted to make sure. Also read from one source that you'll need to remove the PS pump too. Does anyone have experience doing this job with the engine in the car that can comment? Thanks

Yes, the A/c Condensor needs to be removed but make sure to have the system properly evacuated so as not to have problems with it later. also the power steering pump needs to come off as well but that you should be able to leave the hoses on and just hold out of the way with a bungie cord or some wire. hope this helps.

i also had to liff the engine a little bit to get better access to the engine mount to remove it.

You don't have to remove . There is enough room to unbolt it from the block and push it to the back.

No need to remove the compressor. Never tried to remove the front shaft with the engine in the car. Looks to me like it will be impossible to get the front shaft out without cutting it in pieces.
