Relocating the OEM MAF

Yes i have searched and havent found anything on this, I was just wondering if anyone has tried to relocate the stock maf even theough it wont do anything to add power. I know the way that you could relocate the maf using the gm maf with the translator, but money is kind of a problem right now and i really want to have that blow off sound just because its my first turbo car.

The 2g mas is not designed for blowthrough operation so it's not a good idea. I'd probably suggest a hard intake pipe and open air filter if you want the sound so bad.

Your profile still says N/T btw. You cannot move the stock MAS behind the turbo. It is not a blow through type like a GM MAF and will not read correctly once it sees high than atmospheric pressure(see: boost). With hard intake piping and a K&N or similar you will be able to hear your BOV just fine. It will also have the adverse side effect of making some more HP at the same time.

Seriously, don't let that be the only reason to move the maf or upgrade. You may get called a ricer.

Do it right. Honestly i wouldn't even suggest the maft. Just get hard piping and if you have to an aftermarket bov with the ability to recirculate.

Do NOT vent your stock BOV. or go ahead if you don't mind shitty gas mileage, stumbling upon gear shifts, and no ability for your ecu to ever learn your fuel trims properly....

Go read up on this stuff real good, and then make an EDUCATED decision as to whether or not venting the bov is worth the sound.

Are you telling him to remove the recirculation tube or did I just read that incorrectly? If so that is horrible advice. Venting that way is not a good idea with dsm's. I apologize if this is not what you meant.

He meant take out the tube from inside intake and cut the end that sticks into the intake tube. Then reinsert and reconnect the bov.

No he is referring to the silencer tube inside the intake pipe.
