1G Redline MT-90 vs OEM Evo MR Transmission Oil

I have always used GM Syncromesh Transmission oil, but im not happy with its protection anmore and im looking for a new oil. I have been reading that Mitsu's OEM Evo MR 6 speed trans oil is the way to go or Redline MT-90. Besides the cost of the OEM Oil being much more, is there any advantage to one over the other?

Both are good. Jnztuning.com has the oem diaqueen for a really good price. 3 quarts of 75w-85 for Trans only 33 plus shipping cheaper than redline actually.

That's not the special diaqueen. That's just the normal mitubishi fluid.

I use MT-90 with excellent results ... and been doing this fluid since 2008 when I got my Laser.

The oem oil is like $93[DOUBLEPOST=1410008195][/DOUBLEPOST]I've never used the Mt 90 before, do you use it straight, I know some people do a mixture of it with other red line trans oil

I do a mixture of it in my tsi and have had good results. Those are the only two I will put in my trans. Also check out Jack's transmissions, I normally order through him. I would definitely not put in any kind of synchromesh fluid. I also use the redline shockproof heavy weight in the tcase and rear diff.

A few years ago when I installed my Shep transmission they recommended MT-90 for their standard transmission rebuilds and a 50/50 mixture of MT-90 and Redline Lightweight shockproof for higher horsepower builds.

Jacks transmissions disagrees though, they only recommend running the Mitsu Diaqueen or straight MT-90. Here's a good read ---> Jack's Trans FAQ's

I still run the MT-90/Lightweight Shockproof mix because that's what my trans builder recommended and have been doing so since 2010 with no issues. But, if you look at my signature, I haven't exactly been cutting impressive 60' times at the track either...

Can you explain the difference because I keep finding that the evo Mr fluid is also 75w-85 the same as the "normal diaqueen" just more expensive in gallon at 93 vs 33 for three quarts.

4 quarts equal a gallon so It just doesn't make sense that you buy the gallon for more than double of 4 individual quarts. Things are usually cheaper in bigger quantity. Plus jnz labels the $11 quarts as mitsubishi genuine mtf and the good stuff as diaqueen transmission fluid 6 speed evo 8/9. I wouldn't mind be wrong here as I bought 3 quarts from jacks site and I got what I believe is just the normal 75w-85 that jnz shows. I meant to buy the diaqueen and figured that's what I was buying, but believe I made a mistake and got the normal stuff.

I don't know either but everywhere I search I keep finding that the evo 8/9 is the 75w-85 same as what jacks and jnz sell. I seen that buying the bigger sizes was more expensive in the old lsd oil a gallon vs new quart size label sae 90 same stuff. So could be same in Trans oil as well. If someone could explain the difference please do as I don't really know?

Jacks is cheaper because he buys a huge 20 gal drum. If you buy a oem gallon it is crazy expensive compaired to jacks. I've always got it from jack because of that!
