swapped a 6 bolt motor in to a 94 talon n/t and i am having a throttle response problem.my rpms are sitting at about 780 and when you step on the gas it bogs down to about 400rpms. when you slowly step on the gas the rpms go up fine. there is 2 engine codes that come up on the check engine. throttle positioning sensor and coolant temp sensor. i changed the tps 4 times and the connector to it onceand i have not changed the cooant temp sensor yet. i also changed the computer and the idle air control valve. the timing is set at about 7 or 8 degrees. i have a 8.1:1 compression on it,with a turbo head and cams.
i've been working on this car for 4 months and i really need help.

so is the 6 bolt still nt? meaning just a 6 bolt block with head and nt hardware around it?
what about fuel pressure, what ecu are you using?

what injectors?

did you properly adjust the tps?


a fualty coolanttemp sensor will make you run rich and bog

there are 3 coolant temp sensors. one goes to your temp gauge, one goes to your fan, and one to the ecu which sounds like the one your having a problem with. is the car hard to start? if the temp sensor is done,the car will go into "failsafe" mode. which means it will act as if your car is running at normal operating temperature all the time. it injects too much fuel and floods it. and when you finally get it started. it will run like crap until it warms up due to the fact that your ecu thinks your engine is at normal operating temperature, so its giving it the fuel required for normal operating temperature, not a cold one.
