Rebuilt head break in?

I recently rebuilt my head got arp head studs and a full rebuilt/resurface.
Does this require a break in? Or would I be safe jut driving around?

As long as oil is flowing to the head, and no lifter tic.... Go drive...

I heard something of using heavy cheap oil for about 20 miles to get the metal shaving out?

Another thing, I'm running 3inch exhaust 4 inch tip. What down pipe would be better 3 or 2.5?

If there are metal shavings in the oil galleys of the head.. the head will be junk before you go 20 miles

The oil is fed to the HLAs and cam journals....any metal caught between the soft alum of the head casting and the cams. will just starve the cam journals for oil.

Now metal shavings falling out of the water jacket is a common deal.. when the head is surfaced the metal flake will get lodged in the rough casting of the water jacket, then fall out even after the water jacket has been blown thu.

If you have worries about sand/glass bead/crud/metal shavings in the oil galley of the head, remove the 4 little pipe lugs at the front and back and look thu them and wash out with break clean and a "gun brush"
