Rebuilt 16g Problem

I just rebuilt my small 16g turbo. Bought the rebuild kit, brand new turbine wheel, since the old one was chipped, and had it balanced. Well, I reassembled it and it still seems to have quite a bit of shaft play. Has enough that the compressor wheel will rub the housing. I have not put the turbo back on the car yet. Any ideas about what the problem could be?

wow, I wish I could ####ign tell you but maybe it sounds like the bearings are not on right since its hitting the turbine housing, as if the bearing maybe put in on an angle or something like that , causing the center to be out of whack, basically non-concentric. Just a guess. Never actually took one apart meself to that extent.

At one point I rebuilt my B16G and found that the shaft itself was wore down as well as the bearings. Since the shaft was wore, even with new bearings it just slopped around in there. Just something to check.

Well the shaft is part of the turbine wheel which is brand new so it's not wore down. I tore it apart and switched the bearings around so it has alot less play now. Not sure why, since both bearings should be exactly the same.
