Hi,

the came where I need to rebuild my engine is here, the engine have 149k miles and just suffer little bit piston ring wear (piston 1 and 2). this is engine is die hard. everyhting else is fine.

my question is neccesary to replace the rods?

am getting:

Wiseco 9.0
Cometic
ARP
Clevite
gastets
Timing belt accesory, etc.

my goal for sure is not going to be a 500 whp car LOL, just my DD and some boost 26 psi if I get a bigger turbo (spec on my profile).

if you really want 500hp, then you DEFINATELY need aftermarket rods-they arent designed to take over2x factory ratings!

you could go with the 1g big rods with the 2g pistons

but I'd play it safe and get eagle rods, since your already getting aftermarket pistons.

well I got the Wiseco 9.0 and scat rods, acl bearing, crower spring/retainer, all the parts and cylinder was measure, everything is under the standard level, pretty good for a 149k miles engine.

thanks for the help.

Also I sold my dsmchips and order the dsm link next month, am going to need help on that :).

I think am going to have a different car when I finnish, late novemenber if everything is fine.
