my motor in my car is trash... and i have been searching for a long time and dont know weather to rebuild the 6bolt (and with what?)or to go with the a jdm imported engine from japan? how hard is it to convert it to U.S. emission specs?
If i rebuild should i stick with the 1g rods? what about the pistons? do 2g pistons work better than 1g? i heard the 3g lifters work great??? me and my dad can do all the engine work so we dont need to send it to a shop, but were thinking it would be way easier to go with the japan imported engine... is 1400-1500 a good deal for it?
So many questions, sorry guys they've probably all been answered before but i'm sick of looking and not finding answers...
were taking out the engine this weekend so any help is appreciated, i wanna get it runnin asap
also my tranny is shot i need a new one or rebuilt it grinds and dont like goin into 3rd... suggestions?

. Now about a week ago it started smoking white smoke really bad out the back of the exhaust from under the hood and into the cars interior
. So my dad said before i blow a rod through the block i hang up the keys and we rebuild it.
