Yesterday I was on the interstate and I was going 75mph in my 1g awd laser.. Anyway it jerks and goes down to 65mph... and then it does it again so I got timid and drove on the shoulder thats where it locks up at 45mph then stops and rolls and then locks up completly and stops.. So after walking and getting a ride from a complete stranger (im ok) I got to work... 9hours later I have a friend take me to it so I can lock the doors.. I start it to show him what its doing and it rolls of fine and dandy.. I even drove it 12 miles back to my house going 45mph... what is wrong with my car?? I thought the transfer case or driveshaft or something but it wouldnt drive back home if it was that right??

i wouln't think it woul be the transfer care or driveshaft if you were able to drive it home. Did you hear any odd sounds?

Check all your tranny/driveline fluid levels. I had an RX7 that locked up on me, I parked it for about an hour waiting on my dad to arrive to help and we started it up and drove about 20 minutes before it locked up again. We kept repeating this process until we reached the gas station (2 am). The next day the mechanic pulled the tranny plug and nothing drained out except shavings........TOASTED! Oh well, that car sucked anyway. Good luck. :dsm: :thumb:

the t-case is under recalll not the center diff.

check the fluid level if it empty bring the car the dealer and see what they will do..
if it locked up will you were driving they should be licking your nuts.

One of my biggest fears is that t-case locking up. Definitly look and change that t-case fluid. and look at the rear fluid. Just look at all the fluid..

Sorry to make it even scarier than it seems in your mind but it sucks so so very badly... Right when it locks up (with no real warning signs) your ass end slides all over the place.. I was on the interstate and got lucky it locked up when I was on the shoulder because it slide off in the grass.. If I were going 65+ with someone on my butt I would probably be dead.. Thank the Lord
