last thursday afternoon i went to run to the store and everything was fun...on the way home from the store my car started to clunk and scrap underneath my car...then i kept hearing a scraping scratchy whining noise in the front by my trans...then it felt like something was scraping the ground like something stuck under the car i pull over and check and nothing then all the sudden my rear wheels locked up...i manage to get it home and me and my dad left the car in neutral while running and my driveway is slightly inclined and with the ebrake down the car would not roll backwards even if i tried pushing it...what could be going on?

Damn you drove it home like that??? I'm also guessing it the transfer case. Hopefully you didnt break anything else in the tranny on the way home :hmm:

Damn pretty much the same thing happened to me except this happened on saturday. what i did was lift the rear in the air and see if the tires would spin and they did so then when i lifted up on front i could see that the transfer case was the problem. so i would lift up the rear of the car and check to see if if the back wheels would spin first then check out your transfer case

exact same thing happened to me, tow bill cost me $320 :ohdamn: . put the car up on the hoist there was barely any fluid in my transfer case. i would check that first.

yeah it wouldnt hurt, i changed all my fluids right away and found some pretty big metal shavings in both my rear diff and my transfer case. filled it up and its fine now, ive been driving it for two weeks with no problems. But i also stopped right away and towed it home, i hope you didnt damage anything by driving it home. good luck

Nugz, I thought you were bringing this to a shop to waste money....

Drain fluids and inspect. If there is a problem with the trans, t-case, or rear, it will become apparent when you find flakes and debris in the fluids...or no fluid at all.... Save the money for the tow and shop labor and do it yourself. Hit me up with your findings when you do this.
