I read other threads about the rear wheels locking up, but my case is just a bit different..
I had changed out my tranny so there was no fluid in the tranny, and i think there might have been no fluid in the transfer case. I had to tow my car off some property so i called a buddy of mine with a truck and its towing claws.
Well i strap on the front wheels, and we get it ready , we began to drive off and approximately 5 minutes from driving the rear wheels locked up

So my friend put it in reverse and they spun fine, then turned around driving slowly back to where the car was originally and the wheels seemed to spin fine (although it was about 5 MPH)
Is this something i need to worry about? right now the wheels are not locked because you can move the car back and forward without any struggle from the rear wheels...

With an awd vehicle you have to flat bed it or disconnect the rear end/driveshaft etc.
