Hey I need to replace my rear motor mount on my 99 gsx, I can see that it is torn up and I can feel the motor clunk when I am driving. Are there any tricks to putting a new one...? Do I have to drop my transfer case? Thanks in advance....

You should be able to jack the car up with a strong jack, put some jack stands under the car and remove the bolts in the mount. After that you can jack the tranny side up or lower the tranny side down if it's easier and replace the mount. It shouldn't take that long to do.

with my GST, i just supported the engine with a small jack, took out the battery and tray, and switched out the mounts. you shouldn't have to jack the car up or take anything off far I'm aware.

If you have the right tools and skinny arms, you can do it all from the top. That's what I did when I put my Prothanes in. Never even lifted the car.

I probably wont have either LOL... I will try.

I was in the same boat as you. This is how I did mine.

1. Jack up the car put it on jack stands.
2. Take out the battery and plate
3. Use a couple of 12" extentions and you can reach the bolts for the top.
4. Jack up so that you can take the bolt out of the motor mount.

Thats it I think it took me about 15 minutes at the most to replace mine.

The drivers side rear is stuck, I have been using a 14mm snapon swivel with a 1/2in snap on impact and its not budging, I am doing this all from the top of the engine bay. I found some vacuum lines laying!!! in my engine bay, I think I know why my vacuum at idle is 15in mercury...
