My axle is seized in the hub in the rear of my 2g. I pulled the knuckle off with the axle in it. I already removed the 4 bolts for the hub and it won't come off. I am trying to pull the axle with the hub and replace both but keep the knuckle. Am I missing anything here ?

Big f***ing hammer. Or, pull the entire knuckle and have a shop press the old one out.

be prepared to replace the axle and the hub assembly. It is a very common problem. You can take off all the brake stuff and then use a settling torch and a 50 ton press, but you still will likely have problems. Be prepared.

I'm going through this now as i'm replacing all my rear bushings and installing extended studs. The plate where the E-brake stuff is bolted into is held up with the wheel bearing hub. You can stick a pry bar behind the plate and the knuckle and just pry it off. I sprayed PB Blaster everywhere and it came off this way after a day of sitting.

I ordered new hubs but I should just have to replace the outer cv right? I want to keep the knuckle and the rest of the axle. The hub and cv joint should come out together and then just replace those 2.

The picture is why I am trying to get

We had to use a cutting torch on mine to get the old hub off with out damaging the knuckle and then pressed out the axle. The threads on mine were damaged so we used a re-threading axle nut to save the axle and it worked like a charm.

I anti-siezed the hell out of the hub when it went back together.

Ended up having the axles rebuilt because they were seized in the hubs. Took the hub/axle to a shop that rebuilds cv axles in the detroit area, and they just put a new end on it. They attempted to use a 50-ton press on the hub/axle and that wouldn't separate it.
